"Save As" problems

I'm using MS Office 2011 for Mac.
When i perform the "save as" function in Word, it takes almost 30 seconds before my beach ball stops spinning.
Any suggestions?

Have you tried simply restarting your Mac...

It indicates that the program is waiting for the operating system to complete the operation.
